Dennis Hugo is the President and Manager of RM Rafts, LLC
He grew up living all over the United States as his father was an Air Force officer. He went to High School in Dayton, Ohio. After high school graduation he attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., and graduated in 1979.
Denny spent 13 years flying the F-16 in the Air Force. In 1992 he left the Air Force and joined the Air Force Reserve. He was hired as a pilot for Southwest Airlines in 1993 and flies the Boeing 737.
Since 1989 he has owned property in Crested Butte, Colo. He spends his summers on the Taylor, Gunnison, Arkansas and Colorado Rivers. He is a certified raft guide in Colorado.
In 2007 he started Rocky Mountain Rafts (RM Rafts), primarily selling Saturn brand rafts. In 2008 the business was expanded to include NRS frames, Extrasport PFDs, and Carlisle oars and paddles. In 2009 RM Rafts opened a store in Colorado Springs, Colo., and it is now a full-time paddle shop.
Joe Kallis, Sales Manager of RM Rafts, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but spent the vast majority of his childhood growing up at the junction of two great trout rivers in Missoula, Mont. He grew up rowing the big rivers of western Montana in drift boats on rivers such as the Blackfoot, Bitterroot and Clark Fork.
Joe moved to Colorado in 2007 to enjoy rafting, skiing, fishing and the great outdoors of the Rocky Mountains. He guided for two years with Three Rivers Resort in Almont and gained more knowledge about the sport and business of river rafting.
Joe was instrumental in starting RM Rafts in October 2007.
